The duties of the RECORDING Department include:

“Recording” is the method by which a citizen makes a document part of the “public record,” allowing the document to be put on a searchable index. Documents which are recorded are public record indefinitely.

All documents to be indexed (that are not part of a civil or criminal case) are processed by the Recording Department.

UCC PROCESSING (Uniform Commercial Code / When Movables are Collateral) 
The purpose of the UCC Code is to provide public evidence that a debtor and a secured party intend to engage in or have engaged in a secured transaction using specified collateral as security.
