Responsibilities
Our Civil staff is responsible for all aspects of processing from opening and indexing new suits to processing the pleadings and filing the documents in the records. Additionally, the staff collects all fees associated with civil proceedings. Advanced Deposit funds are required unless the Judge has signed an order allowing the litigant to file in forma pauperis.

The Civil Department is also responsible for keeping the minutes of all civil court while in session and transcribing the matters of court into minute books in accordance with the law. The Civil Minute Clerk receives all exhibits and evidence admitted by the court at trial as well as administers the necessary oaths to parties, witnesses and jurors.
Services
A number of other services are also available including copies of pleadings, certified copies, Acts of Congress and searches. A fee of $1.00 per page is charged for copies. A certification charge of $5.00 is applied for all certified copies.
We can perform a 10 year individual name search of civil cases for a fee of $ 15.00 per name. Citizens wishing to use this service please contact the office.
